PHONGSAPHAN OUTGUNS SURIYAN

7 Dec 2020

Sunday, December 6, 2020: In an all Thai affair on yesterday’s WP Boxing promotion Phongsaphan Panyakum became the new WBC Asian Boxing Council super-flyweight champion, defeating former WBC world champion Suriyan Satorn via a 4th round KO victory.

The new champion was made work during the early rounds as the veteran champion dug in for trench warfare, early on.

20-year old Phongsaphan came strong towards the end of the third stanza setting his swift combinations behind a stinging jab which caused his opponent discomfort. The end came in the midst of the 4th round when the rising prospect landed a flurry of punches which forced Suriyan into final submission.

On behalf of everyone at the WBC Asian Boxing Council we would like to congratulate Phongsaphan and his team for their success in becoming the new WBC Asia super-flyweight champion.
