Sunday, September 27, 2020: In an all-Thai affair on last Friday’s monthly Diamond Boxing promotion in Thailand, Petchmanee CPF claimed the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council strawweight championship title with a fifth round technical stoppage victory over Saentanong Tor Sirachai.

Petchmanee, fighting out of the Sasakul boxing gym, under the tutelage of former WBC world champion, Chatchai Sasakul, dominated the contest from the opening bell of the opening round — taking all four rounds on the judges scorecards, landing a some thunderous body-shots throughout the openings rounds.

The beginning of the end in the contest came for Saentanong towards the end of the fourth round as he showed signs of deep pain on both sides of his body from the aforementioned volley of continued body-shots over the opening twelve minutes of the contest.

The bell rang to signal the start of the fifth round and moments later Saentanong signalled to the referee that due to the enormous amount of pain he was feeling, he could not continue. The referee, Mr. Chumpon Intayot called a halt to the bout with 2:51 remaining in the fifth round.
