Monday, September 7, 2020: Thailand’s Chainoi Worrawut was in sensational form on Saturday’s WP Boxing promotion where he clashed with Filipino boxer Joel Kwong for Chainoi’s WBC Asia super-bantamweight title.

The fight was billed as champion versus champion as both fighters held WBC Asia titles going into the matchup. Chainoi, of course, was defending his 122 Lb title whilst Joel was coming down a division from featherweight, where he is the current WBC Asia featherweight silver champion.

The opening round saw both boxers set about trying to implement their respective game plans but it was much faster, much more clinical Chainoi who started the stronger with some fantastic combinations and footwork in the opening parts of the fight — Joel for his part was looking to keep the pressure on the heavily favored Chainoi.

The fourth round was the beginning of the end for Joel’s quest to unseat Chainoi as the champion, when the highly skilled Thai boxer landed a beautiful body shot and headshot to put an end to the contest midway through the round and retain his WBC Asia super-bantamweight title.
