PETCH OUTGUNS TONGTHEP IN BANGKOK

30 Aug 2020

Saturday, August 29th, 2020: Last night at Bangkok’s Rangsit Stadium Diamond promotions held their monthly boxing event. The show was headlined with an all-Thai affair as former world title challenger Petch Sor Chittpatana faced off against Tongthep Taeyawong for the vacant WBC Asia Silver bantamweight title.

The opening rounds of the bout saw a game Tongthep put in a solid performance against the more experienced Petch, earning much praise from the fans in attendance.

As the bout progressed into the middle rounds Petch wore his opponent down with body shots, it was those body shots which would eventually end the contest as one too many landed on Tongthep in the midst of the sixth round forcing him to drop to the canvas forcing the referee to call a halt to the bout.

On behalf of WBC Asian Boxing Council President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, and the entire team at the Asian Boxing Council we would like to congratulate Petch on winning the regional championship strap.
