Sunday, August 2nd, 2020: Evolution Fight Series promotions returned to action, yesterday, at Rangsit Stadium on the outskirts of Bangkok with the headline bout featuring the vacant WBC Asia super-lightweight title contest between Thailand's Somwang Sawinchai and Kazakstan's Saule Tolegan.

It was the promotions first show since the global health pandemic began back in March.

The contest was a heated affair for the opening rounds as both boxers set about trying to control the pace in the early exchanges, but it Saule who proved to be more competitive and first to the punch as she dropped Somwang for eight-count in the opening stanza.

As the contest progressed Saule grew in confidence and eventually stopped her opponent in the midst of the third round after an unanswered barrage of punches forced the referre to call a halt to the contest.

With that, Saule Tolegan became the new WBC Asia super-lightweight champion.

On behalf of WBC Asian Boxing Council President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, we would like to congratulate Saule and her team on their night of glory and a special mention to Evolution Fight Series promotions for thier continued support of WBC Asia championship activities.
