20 Apr 2019

Saturday the 20th of April will be remembered as a day of crowning glory for Thailand’s Chainoi Worawute, as he became the new World Boxing Council Youth super-bantamweight champion of the world.

Chainoi defeated Singaporean pugilist Muhammad Ashiq, the current WBC Silver International champion, via a 2nd round KO.

The classy Thai boxer put in a mesmerizing display of elegant deflective work, backed up by pinpoint accuracy which eventually forced his opponent to succumb from the relentless onslaught, at 1:33 mins into the second round.

Going into the clash the Singaporean was billed as the favorite, as he is the current WBC International silver super-bantamweight champion and ranked number forty in the global WBC rankings.

It was not to be Muhammad’s day as Chainoi came, saw and conquered on his way to capturing the vacant World Boxing Council super-bantamweight youth world title.

On behalf of the entire team at the World Boxing Council we would like to congratulate Chainoi and his team on his day of WBC glory.
