Saturday the 23rd of June was another fine day to remember of high-octane boxing on the WP Boxing promotion in Thailand.

The showpiece encounter for the monthly event at the WorkPoint TV studios in Thailand proved to be another ratings winner for boxing fans in the Kingdom.

Reigning WBC Asia light-flyweight (108 lbs, 48.988 kg)
champion, Kompayak Shinji Dojo, defended his coveted title against his compatriot, Pongsaklek Nakornluang, in a highly anticipated rematch.

These two warriors faced off against each other back in March — at the same venue — and on that occasion fight fans in attendance were mesmerized by a thrilling encounter; a contest that crowned Kompayak the new WBC Asia light-flyweight champion.

The Rematch:

This time around Pongsaklek and his team left no stone unturned in their quest to regain the glory — yet again the contest did not disappoint — as both pugilists tore each other to shreds over twelve pulsating rounds.

It was to be Pongsaklek’s day of redemption as he edged to victory in the latter rounds of the contest with sharper all-round destructive combinations and dominant ring control, sealing his return to the top of the pile in the light-flyweight division in Asia, for the 25-year old from Ayuthaya Thailand.

The three official ringside judges scorecards read: 115-113 to the new champion, Pongsaklek Nakornluang, who is now a two-time WBC Asia champion in the light-flyweight division.

Pongsaklek improves his record to (16-5-1) whilst Kompayak drops to (59-6-0).
