Two modern-day gladiatorial pugilists went toe-to-toe over twelve action-packed rounds of championship boxing back in March of this year, at the WorkPoint TV studios on the outskirts of Bangkok.

The result of that pulsating war saw a new Asian Boxing Council (WBC Asia) light-flyweight champion crowned.

Those two aforementioned warriors, Kompayak Shinji Dojo and Pongsaklek Nakornluang will get the opportunity to once again showcase their gritty boxing skills later this month — Saturday the 23rd of July to be precise — the location is yet again: the WorkPoint TV studios in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

The first fight saw 35-year old Kompayak’s hand raised in glorious victory, after an eleventh round comeback, in which he sent his opponent crashing to the canvas from a thunderous right hand, the resulting eight count swung the encounter to the would-be champion.

After a dramatic climatic round Kompayak got the nod via a majority points decision — the official judges decision: 115-114, 115-113 and 113-114.

Pongsaklek (15-5-1) goes into the rematch with a clearer sense of what he needs to do, in an attempt to take back the coveted WBC Asia light-flyweight (108lbs - 48.988 kgs) title he lost to Kompayak on that fateful day back in March.

For his part Kompayak (59-5-0) the champion, has no intention of giving up his strap that he worked so hard to take from Pongsaklek — this rematch is set up for a scintillating encounter on the upcoming WP Boxing promotion.

The contest and three other boxing bouts will be aired live on Thai television — via WorkPoint TV — on Saturday the 23rd of July, from 2pm onwards (Thai local time).
