Aussie Joey Williams boxing prowess in Wagga Waggs

Willams a new WBC Asia champion

Joey Williams won a keenly contested WBC Asia title in NSW, Australia to take the Asian Boxing Council Continental Super Lightweight title on October 18.
Williams beat Indonesian contender Rusmin Kie Raha by unanimous decision 119-109, 117-11. 116-114
The bout started sensationally with Kie Raha trying hard to land heavy punches early, but Williams took the early rounds by pushing the Indonesian back and constantly pressuring with inside attacks. The Wagga local stepped up in the middle of the fight and scored with combinations off his jab.
Realizing he was behind on points, Kie Raha came out swinging in the 11th and landing a few quality shots. Williams closed with a strong performance to win in front of his home crowd fans.
